Just a reminder that the first Headset deadline is fast approaching!

Those of you who are writing articles or submitting regional reports please e-mail them to me by JUNE 25th.  If possible please send them as a Word attachment.

If you are writing a regional report please try and include the following info:

1.      Info on any upcoming SMA meetings or events in your area

2.      Any hot topics that are affecting Stage Managers (or the arts community in general) in your area

3.      What SMA members are working on, etc.

Hello Everybody! Here is a long awaited updated on the progress of The Headset.  My apologies that I haven't gotten this to you all sooner. I was in the midst of going out of town for Summer Stock.  This past week Wendy Ouellette, Rich Costabile and I met to hammer out some more details for The Headset.  Thanks also to those who sent me suggestions via e-mail.  Here is what we came up with.

CONTENT:

1.      News Articles

2.      Regional Reports

3.      Polls and Opinions with the results being published in the following issue

4.      A "Focus/Spotlight" section.

5.      A Humor section

6.      A Profile section that will feature a Board member in each issue

7.      A reminder box for Operation Observation

8.      A "Hints from Heloise-esque" column that shares SM tips

FORMAT: 

1.      We are aiming for a quarterly publication for now. Eventually we might move to a bi-monthly or monthly.

2.      A paper copy of the first issue will be mailed to each member. After that we will explore posting The Headset on the website and mailing to those who prefer a paper copy.

3.      We are exploring the possibility of printing at least the cover page on glossy paper for a more professional look.

4.      All articles should be e-mailed to me in word format if possible. They will then be forwarded to Wendy and Lisa for editing/proofreading.

5.      When the issue is assembled it will sent to Rich for a final check and then to all Board members for approval. It will be sent in PDF format.

So, the DEADLINE for all articles is June 25th.
Obviously if you can get your article done sooner that would be great!
