Books by Tom Kelly and Bo Metzler

Tom Kelly and Bo Metzler are among the founding members of the SMA, and each is a published author of books about Stage Management.

The SMA is proud to share the news about the publication of the 3rd edition of Tom's book, and the first edition of Bo's.

Tom has been a revered stage manager, mentor, lecturer and teacher. His book, The Back Stage Guide to Stage Management, was first published almost 20 years ago and has been a mainstay in many college courses and on the shelves of many established and experienced stage managers.  The 3rd edition promises to be no less of an important publication.

Bo is quickly acquiring great reviews for his recent publication, What We Do: Working in the Theater, which covers a wider range of material than Tom's (it talks about jobs of the various participants who help make a production possible, including stage managers) and from a very different perspective.
