2003-2004 Season-

Annual meeting: Tuesday, June 15, 2004-

This year's annual meeting was held in NYC at our old haunt, Playwright Tavern

The forum at the annual meeting was "New Technologies," and we had two representatives from the "Technical Supervisor" and/or "Technical Director" world participating.

Here are the details:

Time: 2:00 p.m. - Business meeting
            3:00 p.m. - deadline for ballots to be submitted
                              - FORUM: New Technologies
            5:30 p.m. - Announcement of election results
            6:00 p.m. - End of meeting

            202 West 49th Street, betw. Broadway & 7th Ave.
            3rd floor party room

All SMA members are invited to attend. Only Full members are eligible to vote.

SMA members' meeting

Date: Tuesday, November 11, 2003

Time: 1 p.m. - Business meeting

             2 p.m. - Roundtable discussion:
AEA Production Contract negotiations; moderated by SMA past-chair Ira Mont, who is also Vice Chair of the negotiating team.

            5 p.m. - End of meeting

Venue: Houseman Studios
    DOWNSTAIRS Studio B
    450 West 42nd Street,
    between 9th and 10th Avenues

As mentioned in the initial announcement for this meeting, if you have questions, concerns, etc. that you'd like to air at the meeting but can't attend, please respond to chair@stagemanagers.org with as detailed a question/comment as you can.

2001-2002 Season-

May 30, 2002, Thursday, 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

    Annual meeting with Business Reps from Actors' Equity Association
    Ballots for the 2002/2003 Board elections are due and will be counted at this meeting.

        2:30 p.m.              Annual membership meeting
        3:30 p.m.              Meet 'n' greet with AEA Senior Business Reps;
                                       Deadline for ballot submission
        3:45 p.m.              Discussion with AEA Senior Business Reps
        5:30 p.m.              Announcement of election results
        6:00 p.m.             Adjourn the meeting

As has been our policy for all SMA meetings, you are encouraged to bring along your stage manager friends, whether they are members of the SMA or not. (But please invite only stage managers, or aspiring stage managers.)

This year's panel discussion will be especially important. We will be able to ask the Senior Business Reps questions about the controversial special touring agreements, non-union tours, the new Off-Broadway contract, and other topics. If you can't attend the meeting, but you have a question you'd like to put before the AEA Senior Business Reps, please send the question to SMAUSA@aol.com.

Your Equity membership status is irrelevant to attendance at this meeting. You do NOT need to be a member of Actors' Equity to participate! This is an SMA meeting, not an Equity meeting.

Participate in the SMA by voting and by attending the Annual Meeting, if you can. All ballots MUST be received no later than one hour after the meeting’s scheduled start time (start time is 2:45pm; ballot deadline is 3:45pm) in order to be counted in the tabulation of votes, which takes place during the panel discussion. Election results will be announced before the meeting is adjourned.
