The Stage Managers’ Association of the United States is pleased to announce the first National Collaborators Conference to be held October 9, 10 and 11, 2020 virtually and if the safety climate permits, on location at Playhouse Square in Cleveland, Ohio.
The SMA, Partnering with The Collaborator Party, Ohio Valley USITT (for whom this is their annual fall conference) and Playhouse Square, this National and International conference will focus on how we work together, to create art, continue our own creative growth processes and train the next generation. This is part of the celebration of the Year of the Stage Manager 20/21.
The Conference will have three tracks with 26 sessions and two working group meetings over two half days (Friday Oct 9 and Sunday Oct 11) and one full day, Saturday October 10. Ohio Valley. In addition to Stage Management Sessions with National and International focus, Ohio Valley USITT will plan one track with sessions designed to build and explore skills in costume tech and design, lighting tech and design, scenic, special effects, painting, props and sound.
The conference will also feature an exhibit area and two displays, the Ezekiel Design and Technical Theatre Display and Awards and the Stage Management Paperwork display following SM Paperwork throughout history, originally created for USITT in Houston Texas.
Please save the dates to attend this conference virtually October 9-11, the weekend of International Stage Management Day, 2020.
Virtual Conference Registration will open on August 1 and if permitted, that will be followed by the opportunity to upgrade to in person attendance by early to mid September.
